Vivaldi 6.9 “Fully Optimized” for Windows 11 on Arm

Vivaldi is now available natively on Windows 11 on Arm

With the release of Vivaldi 6.9, the company’s flagship web browser is now “fully optimized” for Windows 11 on Arm and Qualcomm Snapdragon X-based Copilot+ PCs. But there’s a lot more going on than that: Vivaldi 6.9 also delivers several new features that work on both x64 and Arm, and on macOS and Linux too.

“Today, we’re excited to introduce Vivaldi 6.9 — a release that may seem subtle at first glance, but is full of improvements,” Vivaldi’s Jon von Tetzchner writes. “We’re committed to making every release meaningful, whether it’s packed with new features or focused on fine-tuning the experience you already love.”

But let’s start with the fun stuff: With this release, Vivaldi “officially” supports Windows 11 on Arm after four months in preview.

“By bringing Vivaldi to Windows on Arm we’re ensuring that our browser is not only available but also optimized for these cutting-edge devices,” von Tetzchner says. “Whether you’re using a Surface Pro X, a Lenovo Yoga C630, or any other Arm-powered device, Vivaldi delivers the same rich, customizable browsing experience you’ve come to expect —now with the added benefits of Arm’s enhanced performance and battery life.”

As you would expect, Vivaldi provides a full-featured experience on Windows 11 on Arm. It includes all the features found in the other desktop versions of the browser, including Vivaldi Mail and Calendar. And it syncs bookmarks, passwords, history, and settings across all your devices. But as von Tetzchner says, Vivaldi isn’t just available on Windows 11 on Arm, it’s fully optimized for the platform, with “faster load times, smoother scrolling, and improved responsiveness.”

More broadly, Vivaldi 6.9 also brings easy tab and tab stack renaming, the ability to drag files directly from the Downloads panel to the desktop, a redesigned Windows panel for reviewing your open tabs across devices, and multiple improvements to Vivaldi Mail, including over 40 bug fixes.
